About Me

I have been very fortunate in my life to be able to combine my love of wood working with my passion for playing the flamingo style guitar music.

My journey into the world of the luthier was begun one wonderful day during my career as a commercial pilot I was shown and allowed to carry the Gofriller cello of Janos Starker, an instructor of Yo-yo Ma. From that time on I was bedazzled by the beauty of the construction of such a fine instrument. It then became my passion to learn how to create such a wonderful instrument. After many years of practice, educational courses and hard work I am now able to create wonderful sounding instruments in my shop. The luthier gods must have known all along this was to be my destiny since very early in my career I was able to purchase the entire stock of 20+ year old wood from the then president of the Violin Society of America. This was a quantity of raw wood stock that will last me a lifetime of making violins.

To make my violins requires 300+ hours of hand labor. This includes time for the finishes to be applied and cure. Each instrument is made only by my hand and as such must meet my demanding expectations for appearance and sound quality. If you have any questions regarding the making of each instrument please contact me using the contact page. While violin creation is my main request I also will create other instruments on a custom commission basis.
